保育士や幼稚園教諭を中心に、さらに、児童厚生員（児童館の先生）を養成します。児童の健全育成を保証するため、児童福祉に関する関係機関・施設等での実践を通して保育に関する技能を習得します。子どもを「児童（18歳未満）」として捉えることで、保育所、幼稚園、児童館を利用する子どもの発達の連続性を学ぶことができます。
